Privacy policy

TradeTurtle is run by [Business name], ABN [ABN], based in Sydney, Australia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use TradeTurtle, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we aim to meet the GDPR for users in the EU and UK.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from Google.
• Your logbook: the trading accounts, trades, notes, deposits and withdrawals, settings and screenshots you add.
• Billing details: when paid plans launch, our payment provider handles your card details. We receive only your plan, its status and a customer reference, never your full card number.
• Technical data: basic logs our hosting providers keep to run and secure the service, such as IP address, browser type and the time of each request.

We don’t connect to your exchange accounts and we never ask for exchange API keys.

How we use it

• To run TradeTurtle: sign you in, store your logbook and show your stats.
• To send emails you need, such as sign-in codes and billing notices.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.
• To answer you when you contact us.

We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use your trades for anything other than showing them to you.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run TradeTurtle. They process data for us and only as we instruct:

• Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage). Your logbook and screenshots are stored in Singapore.
• Vercel (website hosting), which may process requests in the United States and other regions.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Our email provider, to send sign-in and account emails.
• Our payment provider, when paid plans launch.

The live price bar on our website loads prices straight from the public market data services of Bybit and Binance. Your browser connects to them directly, so they can see your IP address, as with any website you visit. We don’t send them anything else.

This means your information is stored and processed outside Australia, mainly in Singapore and the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. Your browser also remembers your light or dark theme choice. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your logbook and screenshots. Backups and billing records may be kept for longer where the law requires it, such as tax records.

Your choices and rights

You can see, change and export your trades inside the app at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@tradeturtle.io and we’ll reply within 30 days.

If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or to the data protection authority where you live.

Security

Your data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by access rules, so only you can read your own logbook. Screenshots are stored privately and shown to you through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children

TradeTurtle is not for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we make important changes to this policy, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. See also our terms of service.
